2020 SEC Championship Game Recap
Alabama was tested last night in a final exam format. They passed that test, winning the SEC Championship 52-46 against an explosive Florida Gator offense led by Heisman trophy candidate Kyle Trask who threw for 400+ yds last night and 3 TD's. Trask now has five games where he has thrown 400+ yds in 2020. On the other side, the Crimson Tide, led by their Heisman candidate QB Mac Jones, racked up 418 yds passing his own and 5 TD's. Jones now has four 400+ yard passing games.
SEC Championship Game MVP
Najee Harris stole the show last night. Harris had 31 carries for 178 yds, 2 TD's and was impressive as a receiver not just out of the backfield but split out wide on occasion, compiling five catches, 67 yds, and 3 TD's. Harris scored 5 TD's last night.
Devonta Smith's Heisman Opportunity
Smith snagged 15 catches for 184 yds and two TD's. He was impressive in all areas last night. He nearly broke a punt for a score, and he displayed his ability to block in the run game. Smith waited his turn in Tuscaloosa behind other top wideouts and was even in the shadow of a current WR on the roster Jaylen Wqaddle until his injury. Smith has proven to be a true number WR for the Tide and has all the tools you look for in a WR at the NFL level.
The Best Team In College Football
You better prepare for another addition of Alabama vs. Clemson in the title game if you consider the performances of each of the top power five National title contenders from yesterday. Alabama's defense is questionable, and if the National Championship were played today, Clemson should be the favorite regardless of record. Both teams are equal, and if they do meet again, it could be a game where the first team to score 40-50 points wins.
