Biggest. Game. Ever.

This coming week my current university, and soon to be alma mater will be playing the biggest game in school history. The Liberty University Flames have steadily climbed the football ranks since its inception in 1973. In 2018 the Liberty University Flames jumped from the FCS subdivision to the higher tier FBS subdivision. The Flames have seen a fast ascension and have had great success early on.

The Liberty Flames are currently ranked 25th in the Associated Press, and face-off versus ACC contender Virginia Tech. The Liberty University Flames come into the game 6-0, while Virginia Tech sports a record of 4-2. Although Virginia Tech should have a clear advantage in the talent department; Liberty will look to take advantage with extra rest and preparation. The flames are coming off a very conveniently placed bye week last week and look to strengthen their resume with a victory. They are currently ranked 85th in FPI (ESPN). The Virginia Tech Hokies beat Louisville 42-35 last weekend.

Some notable players to watch on the Liberty University Flames starts with Auburn transfer Malik Willis. He has impressively quarterbacked the Flames offense with both his arm and his legs. Liberty will look to run the ball early and often with a stable of talented running backs. Joshua Mack, an upstate New York native and former Maine Black Bear spearheads the backfield. Mack led the FCS subdivision in rushing yards in 2018, prior to transferring to Liberty. Mack shares the backfield with shifty speedster Shedro Louis. Louis is also very talented and has enormous amounts of big play ability. This may be Hugh Freezes best rushing attack in quite a long time, but can they be good enough to bring Liberty its biggest victory in school history?
